Can We Dream For A Permanent Seat At UNSC

Afternoon Voice

Veto power which is why India is behind to share its table with the 5 permanent members of United Nation Security Council. Thus the 5 Permanent members ie: US, Britain France Russia & China are only permanent members in which India is struggling to be a permanent member of UNSC. Though the world has recognized India as a safer heaven for investment due to its liberal policy but still India is a way behind in the race of superpower's of free and capital economy. Though cold war was a struggle for the survival of communism and capitalism but the collapse of Berlin Wall on 9th Nov 1989 opened the gate of Free Market Economy in third world countries which includes India too. The collapse of Berlin Wall and Lehman Brothers was a matter of great concern in the history of Free Market Economy. The transition of power from west to east needs a reason and the bankruptcy of Lehman & Brothers became one good reason for the transition of power's 20 years after the fall of Berlin Wall. Though India has become a place of safe investment for FDI's and FII's, but the investors are not too secure about the future of India whose relations with its neighboring countries are always questioned. In spite of being a biggest Democracy in the world India is facing problems with its Internal security threat which is increasing day by day including the price rise has become so volatile that Indian leaders are not able to control the phenomenon of price rise in every sector which may lead to further unemployment. Can power of Veto may lead us to become a stable country in this unstable economy?, though this is a question which may lead us to many answer's. Though Obama's and Nicolas Sarkozy's recent visit to India and their statement in which they have shown green light for India becoming a permanent member of UNSC made headlines but was not enough to establish trust among Chinese delegates. But India is in immense need of a Veto power to at least built a confidence among its foreign investors who will feel their money is safe in the biggest democracy of world. Let us see why we can dream for a permanent seat at UNSC.
India is the world?s biggest, most vibrant, liberal, secular democracy.
India is the world?s 4th largest economy (larger than that of UK and France combined, and larger than that of Russia) and one of the fastest growing.
India is an acknowledged technology superpower.
India is a responsible and peace-loving nation with a powerful armed forces firmly under civilian control.
India is a responsible nuclear power with a strong record of non-proliferation.
India has contributed significantly to UN peacekeeping operations.
India is one of the oldest living civilizations and a perennial and prolific fountainhead of influential culture and spirituality.
Yet, India does not find a place as a permanent member of the UN Security Council alongside US, Britain, China, France and Russia.
Beyond this there is a support for India from many countries and International Media too.
